This red flower embroidered suzani cushion was inspired by the Colloseum. The largest amphitheatre in the world was built between 72 A.D and 80 A.D by 10.000 men. It was started by the emperor Vespasian and completed by his descendent Titus. Reminding us for how our suzani fabrics are also passed down from mother to daughter as a dowry. The Colosseum was used for public spectacles and gladiatorial contests, could hold an estimate of 50.000 to 80.000 people. The intricate work in the suzanis of this collection is an homage to the 10.000 men building this incredible monument.
